Amusing clip of the day
Telecon:
Me: "Yeah that's right. Sorry I forgot it's an internal loan"
Counterparty: "Yeah. Nowadays, you know lah, the market is so hot - we've got so much money we don't know what to do with it - so we create some internal loans for our subsidiaries"
Me: *dumb shocked with amusement*, thinking "you can give some to me"

S.l.o.s.h.e.d...
Yesterday was Good Friday, a day of religious reflection. While others chose to go to church, I chose to get religiously and feverishly sloshed at the most excellent Wala Walas, listening to the most excellent E.I.C. band and getting my eardrums completely smashed.
I had the day all planned out actually: I was gonna get up, go to the NUS library and borrow books on Nuremberg, then go to my aunt's place to fix the computer which I now have to go tomorrow instead (curses for having imbecilic computer illiterate relatives), and then after that have dinner at my cousin's place and then get sloshed at Wala Walas with the 1-for-1 offer.
Instead, I woke up, watched Kids Central. After nuah-ing for a few hours I went to the office to pick up some books that I was supposed to return to the NUS library. Got distracted by the DBS roadshow where I applied for 2 credit cards for no reason whatsoever other than the fact that I think credit cards are cool and I just qualified for them this year. DBS Black Card here I come.
By the time I got to office it was bloody 3.30 pm and the NUS library shuts at 4.30 pm on public holidays. So there went the whole day of plans. So I refused to go west and ended up doing work until 8 pm instead. WEee don't I just love work?
Got to Wala-Walas at 8.30 pm and we then proceeded to order, between the 10 of us:
4 jugs of beer, and 10 further pints. By the time the night ended I was royally sloshed. I recall sms-ing a lot of ppl telling them i was sloshed but I can't remember who. And I also think I stuck my middle finger up at ppl. Fortunately didn't get whacked.
Today I woke up feeling like shit. And then I watched Kids Central again and I saw Care Bears and realised that all the Care Bears are completely gay. "Oh, let's all care for each other...three, two, one, Care Bears, stareeeeee....(in the gayest tone possible)". It's right up there next to My Little Pony on WK's list of favourite cartoons.
And then there was choir, where I learnt a new word of the day: "Slacktionals". We had combined sectionals, most of which was spent listening to the out of tune basses fix themselves. sigh...basses basses.
"Walk Walk Walk Walk" makes the basses sound like retarded Chewbaccas on Sesame Street.
At J's house now on his laptop and going to majorly rip pirated stuff to watch for the week.
Wonder how pilot neighbour-friend is doing in Perth.

Lunch
Had lunch today at Amoy Street with WK and my friend who is a reader of this blog and who would like to be known as Anonymous Hot Girl No. 3 (AHG3). Char Kway Teow is yummy.....
I'm sure WK thought AHG3 was AHG1. AHG3 is not as hot as AHG1. hahhaahha sorry AHG3. But AHG3 doesn't smoke. Thumbs up for AHG3.
And now everyone's wondering, who's AHG2?????
Had a crappy dinner of Myojo Tom Yam instant noodles even though I swore to myself that I don't eat instant noodles. Instant Noodles suck big time.
Slightly miffed at work today. M-I-F-F-E-D.
Waiting for the night secretary to finish typing my document so that I can send it out. Hm. It's 12 am. It's time for her to go home.
AH3 keeps asking me to go to church on Sundays. By Godly decree, Sunday is a day of rest therefore I should remain at home and do my holy duty by sleeping.
Today I got into work LATE again even though there was absolutely no excuse for doing so since I finished work at 8.30 pm last night. 'Cept after that I spent 2 hours in the office surfing Amazon.com for Nuremberg books before deciding that DUH I have a corporate membership and I should just sponge off NUS library. Brilliant Sherlock.
Then after I got home at 11+ or so, I spent like 2 hours dreaming of a Powerbook. Which is an absolutely silly thing to do since I'm NOT buying one.
I was also thinking whether I should attend the World Choral Symposium at Kyoto later this year. It looks very interesting and I think the concerts will be quite cool. And Kyoto = Japanese Food = Japan Hour on Channelnewsasia come true = one very fat EFB = equally broke EFB.
I shall have to ask resident VC oldie who's thinking of going. Apparently I pay a cheaper price 'cos I'm from a sub-developed country (category 2). Three cheers for Malaysia for being sub-developed!!!
Indonesia however, is from an un-developed country (category 3).
Where is my document???????
I so need a beer when I get home. Which will be like never. Oh she's done!!! yay. back to work.

Nuremberg
"The privilege of opening the first trial in history for crimes against the peace of the world imposes a grave responsibility. The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that Civilisation cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated. That four great nations, flushed with victory and stung with injury stay the hand of vengeance and voluntarily submit their captive enemies to the judgment of the law is one of the most significant tributes that Power has ever paid to Reason." - Justice Robert Jackson, US Chief Prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials
Bought this DVD (my first ever original film purchase!!!) the other day for $30 'cos I saw the trailer on HBO sometime early last year and have been wanting to catch it ever since but didn't manage to find it.
Finished watching the 3 hour movie last night and as a result was extremely late for work today. =(. Like...10 am sauntering into work half comatose.
Anyway, it must be one of the best movies I've watched in ages. Make that years. Makes me want to be a litigator all over again!!! There were so many quoteworthy moments in the movie like the quote above that just made the 3 hours pass very quickly.
The movie was a bit American-centric - Alec Baldwin was like the hero and all that rubbish. I kept hoping that I would see some of the other prosecutors in action, especially the Russian ones.
The show made me grateful that I studied like a BIT of Public International Law, even though I was absolutely rubbish at it.
So anyway now I'm surfing Amazon.com for more books on Nuremberg. Excellent stuff.

Fun Saturday
Sunday. At office to do Bizfiling due today. Haven't done it. Rather blog first instead. Bah.
Saturday was rather fun. V and F tried to get me out of bed to stuff my face somewhere. I think it was Miramar on Japanese food. They were checking out the church where V is gonna get married in July. I was just too nuah to move and they decided screw me they were gonna go have lunch without me. Bah. Nevermind - I ate too much on Friday anyway.
So then I nuahed somemore watching Kids Central (Gundam Seed!!!!) and then did my laundry and then took a cab to choir.
Choir was like that. Managed to con XH into doing sectionals because I hate doing sectionals. I don't mind teaching like ppl on a one-to-one basis, but teaching a group is like....argh.
So anyway, after choir, we went to Beach Hut, 'cos WK just ORD-ed. And WK was kind enuff to buy us 3 jugs of beer on his meagre allowance / newfound salary. We bought ourselves another 4 jugs after that. WK, Oand E (aka the "Young ones") then proceeded to get roaring drunk and the following things happened that night:
1. As punishment for not being able to count, O ran out of beer and was forced to take off his shirt and run about the table once.
2. As punishment for also not being able to count, C (who should also be in the definition of the "Young Ones" 'cept she didn't get roaring drunk like those wimpy tenors) had to pole dance for 20 seconds in public.
3. As punishment for saying "7-up" instead of "3-up" E also had to pole dance. It's totally gross to see a guy pole dance. And then because E is so amenable to being bullied, he also had to catwalk up and down Beach Hut with half his buttons off and shoulders exposed, and then after that with his shirt off. It was truly a horrific sight.
4. As forfeit, but also as punishment for being himself and being a stupid tenor, WK had to go up to the mike and sing "Happy Birthday To Me". He started on a totally high note and then proceeded to sing totally off key when he couldn't reach the notes. As Tenor-SL I had to bury my head in disgrace and shame.
After he sang his version of Happy Birthday, this buff dude (hereinafter known as "The Dude") in a sleeveless top came over with a mug of beer and got WK to down half a mug of beer with him, i.e. SHARE the mug of beer. The whole table was sure WK was getting hit on. And after they had done the beer, The Dude then asked WK how old WK turned. WK said it wasn't his birthday but that we were celebrating his ORD status. The Dude then playfully smacked WK's head and then whispered into WK's ear "I've finished Reservist!". WK was totally horrified and petrified but was too drunk to do anything. As he was sitting opposite me, I watched the entire episode in absolute amusement.
In the cab home WK kept moaning: "oh no I think he was gay lah!!!! Yarks!!! oh no why did I drink his beer? What if I get hepatitis????" x 10.
This Friday we are supposed to go to Walas Walas. Maybe we can also go Brewerkz in the afternoon and get ourselves roaring drunk twice in one day.
So now it's 7.15 and I think I had better get back to Bizfiling. Bah. I'm envious of those ppl who are just about to enter uni. By the time they graduate I will be *30* years old!!!!! Jimmy will be er..35...and ZH will be errrrrrrrrrrrr errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr *censored*.
Life is like an unavoidable fatal disease.

Stupid Teaching Advertisement
Everytime I see that MoE Teaching Seminar I can't help but laugh.
Science lab: 143 sq m
Kent Ridge Park: 4000++ sq m
the World: 50 gazillion sq m
School Choir practice
Esplanade Singing Recital
and THEN....
World Choir Competition (or something shit like that) which has this video of VJC Choir, a fake-o conductor that certainly didn't look like N K - I'm still trying to see who it was - I recognise some of the faces of the singers though - the fake-o conductor looks way too slim....and THEN some fake-o background which looked nothing like the real thing in Bremen since the real thing in Bremen looked like a refurbished factory. Certainly did not have any velvety curtains.
and THEN
"Nurture" - Be a teacher. How big is your classroom?
I hope this doesn't con anyone into becoming a teacher.

Ran out of Brain Juice
Today, as with last Friday, I felt that I had run out of Brain Juice. I.e. my brain is running on empty and I'm barely managing to keep track of the various files. All the comments from various parties are beginning to merge into one.
My room is like a buffet-style restaurant dishing out work instead of food.

My Toys 'R' Us
Starting today, IT Fair is on again!!! And I'm now wondering what new toy I should buy myself on Saturday/Sunday.
Since I was a little kid I've always loved attending IT fairs 'cos there's so many things to see and so many things to buy. 'Cept I never had any money.
IT Fair is like a mini toys 'r' us. Will be going there on Saturday to look see look see. DVD writer? new IRiver? XBox? so many toysssss...
I'm glad I have a cheap hobby to feed.
Also, I've been contemplating taking language classes lately so that I can meet different people and not the same old faces week after week after week. May just start German classes in May. How exotic is that? Ich bin ein Genie. Ich liebe Bratwurst. Ich werde gebohrt!!!
Ich sollte zurück zu Arbeit JETZT erhalten!!!
Finally, Ich liebe Babelfish. Sehnt sich Phasendeutschland!!!

New Ipod
No I haven't bought a new one but I am sorely tempted to get the IRiver H340...
My poor Ipod Mini is now outdated =((((((( having only 8 hours of battery life when the new ones have 18 hours...=(((((((((
And the price has dropped like...$100.......=((((((((((((((
Nevermind...at least I got some use out of it every morning on the MRT.
My Hong Kong trip failed. So not going Hong Kong next week as planned 'cos both of us got dumped new files...
