Mr. Potato

I wanted to blog something. Blogger took forever to load. Now I can't remember....

Oh wait yes. I am a POTATO.

yah. i am supposed to extend my trip to china in july. i've borrowed 2 guidebooks, and i just can't think of anywhere that i would want to go in china. this is terrible. i am not connecting with my beloved superior roots. why why why isn't it interesting???

It's a beautiful day (U2)

The period since early January has been really HELL for me, and steadily got worse as the transaction progessed. On Monday I did my first ever overnighter. It was gross. I went for a meeting at 8 am, wearing the same clothes as the night before. I couldn't be bothered to wear a tie 'cos I was just grossed out. Didn't have a toothbrush in the office either. It was disgusting.

So anyway my boss was kind enough to tell me to go home and take today off (unofficially of course). coolbies. So I did. I didn't want to spoil my sleep pattern, so yesterday i went roaming around Orchard, to the library, borrowed a book, plonked myself in a corner and plugged into the free headphones they have there, and listened to Kenny G, and promptly snoozed off in the library thereafter. I hope i didn't snore.

Came home, and watched Fong Sai Yuk. It's hilarious!!!!

Today I woke up at 10 am, answered a few e-mails in bed, and then went back to sleep! and then woke up again at 12 pm, rolled around for a while, and finally got out of bed at abt 1 pm. Had lunch, and made my way to JB to see my orthodontist for the first time in er 15 months. Lied and said I was posted overseas for a year.

So I started complaining about how all my metal bands were loose, how slow progress is etc etc and must have looked pathetic 'cos they did an overhaul of the metal contraptions in my mouth. removed all my wires, scaled/cleaned my teeth, fixed me new wires, and got me new rubber bands. It was about an entire hour's worth of dental work. Must have cost a fortune. And I didn't have to pay a cent. I love malaysia. Feel bad though. These ppl paid by tax money, of which I contribute zero.

Then I got myself a haircut, and bought myself a groovy new shirt. Oh wore my groovy new shoes to JB too. It must be my grooviest pair ever 'cos I kept looking down at my shoes and feeling pleased.

On my way back to tampines, I went past a VCD stall, and promptly bought like 6 VCD's of cartoons!!!! living my second childhood now I say. 3 VCDs of superman cartoons and another 3 of spiderman cartoons.

It's a beauuuuutiful day!

I am excited

In July this year we will be headed for Xiamen to compete against the choirs of the world. I have good feelings about this competition. The songs are very exciting, unlike the 2004 songs....which except for 1 or two were boring as shit.

Hope we can pull off Sacred - usually I don't like Sacred songs because the tenors always stick out - our tone not suitable for sacred. But then now we have sooooo many tenors, it's so easy - we just have to hold back and it sounds good.

So, good start to the year. Hope we are not overconfident. 6 months will pass in a flash. Golds here we come. Dare I say, CATEGORY CHAMPION?!?!!!

I am sleepy.

It surprises me how after 6 years in choir, going into the 7th, I can still be excited about singing new songs. Choir can be a real bitch at times, but when everyone plays their part, the resultant product is magical.

Snubbed

I am turning more poisonous day by day. I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON!!!!!!!!! =(

I am absolutely exhausted

Have been going home everyday at 4 am since last week, except for saturday and sunday. It's exhausting. I woke up today practically praying it was Saturday and feeling suicidal on realising that it was not.

I think I woke up early morning to check my Blackberry and promptly fell asleep again thereafter.

Ah yes i remember now, as the latest iteration came around.

I ******* HATE THOMAS AND HIS ******* TRAIN

There are only so many iterations of:

the wheels on the train go round and round round and round round and round x2 all day long.

the something something goes choo choo choo, choo choo choo, choo choo choo x2 all day long.

I can understand why this would fascinate a 3 year old (which is why it's being played), but if I hear another round of this song I will go out and punch the tv screen and smash it on the floor. And then I shall strangle the audience: a 3 year old boy. Maybe this is why people hate kids.

He bawls every morning, acting as my alarm clock. Unfortunately he bawls around 8.30 which means I am already late for work anyway.

But the boy's really cute so I'll forgive some of his bawling.

His vocab is quite limited:

"Uncle what you doing?? tomorrow you come my house and pwayyy with me OK??"

this is not a request. it's a demand. so I have to go "Ok!!!" or he might bawl. again. I think he's spoilt.

We should all be jerks

Hurhur this is quite funny:

"This sounds very odd, but Hugh Laurie's Dr House is just so SEXY. Argh. There I've said it. It's ridiculous. He's an insensitive, arrogant, egoistic, messy looking, self-centred, unshaven, balding, OLD jerk, yet something about his character draws me to him like a moth to a 1000000 Watt bulb, knowing very wel that it would be fried to crisps. It's probably the JERK part. ALL girls tend to fall for JERKS due to their inherent masochistic tendencies. God made it so, otherwise nobody would love the men except their dogs and the human population would go POOF extinct, and that's when RABBITS and would TAKE OVER THE WORLD. Boing Boing."

This explains EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Ok time to get started on those motorbike lessons, get them motorbike leather gear stuff, get that harley davidson, and ride around...uhm...ok where can i ride around with lots of chicks...crap i don't know...whereverlah..and go "hey b*tch, wanna ride?"

Uh-oh. this reminds me of that ahlian barbie and ken song thing. "Hey barbie, want a ride on my bike?" "Sure Ken". and then it goes into techno.

I had something else i wanted to blog about. But it slipped my mind. damn. it has to be the ahlian alert mode.

Below conversation got me thinking: is this why people marry trolls? Since “it’s what inside tt matters”, I guess as long as you get a good ahem, then everything else is fine?

Friend: eh..my house not tht nice la.. oh dear. v boring ...
Me:eh how come
Friend: sigh.
Me: u said got good furnishings and all?
Friend: simple boring lo.
Friend: good finishing.
Friend: inside the house.
Friend: but design is boring.
Friend: hahahahha
Friend: i hope the id will be nice though
Me: it's what's inside tt matters!
Friend: yeah yeah...like gals huh??
Me: haha uhm
Me: tt one a bit differenet lah
Me: tt one ppl look at everyday
Me: so outside better be more maintained

Also, I learn new things about myself every day! I have a HUGEEEEEE EGO. And I think if I ever got dumped, it wouldn’t be fact that we have to split that would matter, it would be the fact that *I* GOT DUMPED. No wonder you get all those crazy guys with parangs killing their ex girlfriends. I think I might just be one of them. Hahahahaha. Crimes of passion.

Die lah. I think I’m going straight to hell. Of the 7 sins, I probably am guilty of all:

Pride – check
Greed – check
Lust – check
Anger – check
Envy – hmm..this one not really. I suppose mini check.
Laziness – check
Gluttony – CHECK CHECK CHECK!!!!!!!

I so dead.

Lust

1. Lust

Quote

sinful longing; the inward sin which leads to the falling away from God (Rom.
1:21). "Lust, the origin of sin, has its place in the heart, not of necessity,
but because it is the centre of all moral forces and impulses and of spiritual
activity." In Mark 4:19 "lusts" are objects of desire.

3. Reactive Action

To acquire object of Lust.

4. Contemplative Action

Object of Lust costs lots of Money. I don't want to spend money.

5. Conclusion and comments

Therefore I am unable to acquire object of Lust. So this is what unrequited lust feels like haha.

Weird Taxi Ride

Had the weirdest taxi ride just now. This Malay uncle, seemed rather nice. Asked him to stop halfway to office so that I could buy lunch somewhere. For some reason or other, he started talking about prostitutes!!!!

"China girls, very expensive lah. $80 - 100. Short while only.

The Indonesian and Thai ones, cheaper, $40-$50 only." (ok so now I know)

Later when I started talking about Orchard, I was asking whether the taxi business would be better there. Unfortunately I said "Business should be better in Orchard right?". That started him on prostitutes in Orchard.

"Oh Orchard, yes better lah. But very expensive. They like to go for all the ang mohs you know? $300. But the angmohs say very cheap. For them US$ cheap. But for us locals, $300, mati-lah!"

I was itching to ask him whether he was a frequent but then didn't feel it was polite since he seemed like such a nice Malay uncle.

And then not enough. When we reached Geylang (so that I could pack lunch to the office), he started pointing out all the China girls!!!

"Like this one lah China girl. They just stand on the street. If your car stop then you know you know lah. At night ah this street, teruk lah. Jam whole way. Matilah. All the cars stop to see.

But now so many China girls, no wonder the local girls cannot get man. So much competition. Matilah"

Couple of thoughts for the day:

1. Kiat is a big mouth fucker.

2. What the hell is deng deng???? I have never heard it used in the shop. Apparently it's the Chinese equivalent of etc etc. I was dying to ask people the entire day how the phrase is used in a sentence. Apparently, exactly like etc etc. No fun.

3. Taiwan is across the straits from Xiamen. However, it has no direct flight / ferry service?!!?!! HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT?!??!!!
never underestimate the power of a rainy day and inviting bed to spoil the best plans of anyday. Especially on a Sunday.

I was supposed to go to work today but spent it gloriously sleeping instead. I am wracked with guilt. I think this is not normal. Die.

Joie de Vivre

Wow! what a long day it has been!

Woke up at ungodly hour in the morning to watch Narnia, which i thought was an ok show dunno why everyone slammed it. I liked the last battle scene though i thought it could've been longer - I would've liked to see the witch use more magic. The battle scene was somehow almost moved me to tears. Like wtf rite. Battlescene.

Overall I thought the show was entertaining but mediocre

Some pet peeves of the show:

1. Susan was just butt ugly both as a child and as an adult. The grown up Lucy was chio.

2. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver didn't get Christmas presents from Santa!!!!

3. The witch wasn't evil enough. And she was also not very chio at all. Bad skin.

4. Longer battlescene please!

After the show, I bought 2 pairs of shoes. Die. In 2 weeks I've spent 400+ bucks on footwear. Like wtf for.

In the afternoon, watched Wallace & Gromit. Another somewhat entertaining but mediocre show. I think I fell asleep at some parts.

And then we went to Megumi for dinner. I went to Gelare twice today for coffee.

Thoughts to end the day:

1. I need to be more careful with my body language
2. I need new clothes to match my funky new shoes. My clothes have been dissed by my friends. Whyyyyyy

And final most important thought of the day:

3. I have no passions in life!!!!! Die.

"What is joie de vivre? It can be a joy of conversation, joy of eating, joy of anything one might do. One may speak of a joie de finesse (refinement, grace, elegance), joie de réussite (success), the joy of summer, the joy of an embrace, etc. Alain: Il y a de merveilleuses joies dans l'amitié-joy of friendship.

And joie de vivre may be seen as a joy of everything, a comprehensive joy, a philosophy of life, a Weltanschauung. Robert's Dictionnaire says joie is "sentiment exaltant ressenti par toute la conscience," that is, involves one's whole being."

I can't describe anything I do as a "joy". Computer games used to be a "joy" but stopped being so after JC.

Eating is also not really a joy at all.

Nor buying new technological toys.

Nor buying / surfing info on new handphones.

Nor reading.

Nor is work.

Nor is choir.

Nor is watching movies.

Nor watching serials.

Nor travelling.

Nor going on leave.

Nor weekends.

Joie oh Joie, where art thou Joie?

New Year resolutions checklist.

Day 1 plans. Check.
Sat plans. Check.
Query colleague about motorbikes and lessons and where to buy. Check.

On time for work: fail.
No diet coke: fail.
Stop bitching about work: fail.

A nice surprise awaited me this morning on my table. My secretary's resignation letter. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Annoyed. It's not me. She got a better job elsewhere.

Why can't I keep secretaries....boohooo.....I shall not be nice to the next one. Waste time only investing my niceness.

God, king, queen, chancellor, eunuch, puppet, royal jesters, royal servants, peons

Does that sum up the fief court system?
